Taylor-Gooby steps down after quarter century at Towers Watson

Towers Watson has appointed Rory O’Brien to lead its Risk Consulting and Software business, replacing Steve Taylor-Gooby who steps down after 25 years at the company.

O’Brien joined Towers Watson from EMB, the risk consulting and software firm acquired by the firm earlier this year. At EMB, he was Managing Partner responsible for defining and implementing global strategy; a role he held since joining that firm in 2008. Before EMB, O’Brien was the Group CEO of Guardian Holdings Limited, a publicly quoted company. Prior to that, O’Brien, an accountant by training, was a partner at Deloitte jointly responsible for its Insurance Consulting business.

Patricia L. Guinn, global leader of Towers Watson’s Risk and Financial Services segment, noted that Taylor-Gooby will assist with the transition before his departure, saying: "We thank Steve for his many contributions and wish him well for the future."
