Queen’s Award for EMB

English Matthews Brockman (EMB) has won a Queen’s Award for Enterprise in recognition of its innovation and growth. The firm’s commitments include substantial marine work, especially in the London market.

The citation highlights the ‘development and continuous improvement of software’ by EMB. The range of five products, it says, enables users ‘to undertake analyses of whole sectors of the insurance industry by gathering, analysing, and interpreting large volumes of data, leading to better understanding of the markets concerned’.

Founded nearly ten years ago, with offices in Epsom and Cambridge, EMB recently established operations in Australia and Ireland, having opened a subsidiary in Germany two years ago. Turnover and recruitment over the past five years have increased by around 20% a year. ‘This honour shows how far we have come in a short time’, said partner Andrew English.
