Healthy life expectancy - Faculty sessional meeting

The research paper ‘Healthy life expectancy measurement in Scotland’, specially commissioned by the Faculty to commemorate its 150th Anniversary, was presented by Professor Angus Macdonald (pictured above right) at the Faculty’s fifth sessional meeting in the Royal Museum in Edinburgh on 20 February.Harvie Brown, Faculty president, welcomed visitors and guests to the presentation of ‘a particularly meaningful piece of research’, in particular Dr Marion Bain, medical director of ISD, Brian Duffin, chairman of ASLO, Tom Kirkwood of Newcastle University, Peter Scrimgeour of the Registrar General’s Office, and past presidents Paul Grace, Fraser Low, John McCutcheon, Bill Morrison, Malcolm Murray, and Tom Ross. Pictured above left is the Q&A panel – Professor Angus Macdonald, Jennifer Straughn (researcher), Professor Matt Sutton (University of Aberdeen), Alan Botterill (Faculty honorary secretary), and Harvie Brown.
