Either my piano or my violin - it’s hard to choose.

Marie Curie — girl power!

What’s your most ‘actuarial’ habit?
Watching Deal or No Deal and calculating expected winnings...

How do you relax away from the office?
Travel, food, wine, music and books (and Neighbours!)

Alternative career choice?
Politician — I’d get paid to talk for a living!

Tell us something unusual about yourself
At various points in my life I have had a broad Suffolk accent, an indecipherable Glaswegian accent and a posh Home Counties accent, before landing on my current bland Southern accent, due to a lot of moves when I was younger.

Greatest risk you have ever taken?
Snorkelling with sharks that were bigger than me, although it’s not diffi cult to be bigger than me!

If you ruled the world, what would you change first?
It’s a bit of a cliché, but securing world peace would be quite high up the list.
