Quantitative Financial Risk Management Centre – outcome of call for proposals

The EPSRC Mathematical Sciences Programme has established a research consortium to develop and apply novel mathematical and statistical techniques for financial risk management. The aim is to build on the success of the Quantitative Finance Initiative and to reinforce and concentrate the strengths of the UK academic community in this area, producing a consortium with some international visibility. The actuarial profession is supporting this initiative by contributing towards the funding.

The proposal ‘Risk management in the personal financial services sector’ from Professor David Hand of Imperial College, London, Professor Lyn Thomas of the University of Southampton, and Professor Jonathan Crook of the University of Edinburgh, has been selected for funding.
